The use of a sign indicating the various blind spots on coaches and lorries will be made compulsory from January 2021 following the decree published on 20 November 2020 of article R.313-32-1 of the highway code, relating to the signalling of biting straps for heavy vehicles.

Presentation of the blind spot warning sign for buses.

The proposed display panel, which can be fixed by an adhesive system or on an aluminium plate, must be mandatory for all drivers of machinery and passenger transport vehicles such as coaches or buses in order to signal possible blind spots to other road or lane users such as pedestrians, cyclists or other light motorised vehicles.

This blind spot sign provides a safe signalling system for all individuals present on the lanes, signalling the danger of a coach during a manoeuvre, as the blind spots of these vehicles are greater and can be a source of great danger. This sign must be present on each side of the vehicle as well as at the rear of the vehicle, for a visible and assured signalling and warning.

Characteristics of the Blind Spot Warning Sign for bus.

This display panel has various characteristics so that it can be visible to all other users during a manoeuvre of a heavy goods vehicle such as a coach:

  • Has a blind spot diagram for buses ;
  • The panel is red, yellow, white and black to provide quick information about the vehicle's blind spot zones;
  • Measures 25 cm high and 17 cm wide;
  • Available with adhesive and/or on an aluminium surface;

This coach display panel for signalling blind spots is easy to place on any surface and provides optimum safety and information.

In compliance with the article in force concerning blind spot signs for heavy vehicles, these signs must be placed on the rear of the vehicle, on the right-hand side and on the longitudinal median plane of the vehicle, at a height of between 90 cm and 150 cm from the ground.

The installation of these signs for coaches and buses complies with certain specific rules concerning the positioning of the latter. The panels must be placed in the first front metre of each section of the vehicle, on the left and right sides, on an unglazed surface and at a height of between 0.90 metres and 1.50 metres from the ground.
